He made sure Hermione was no where in hearing range on August 31st of their first year, so he could tell them where they all were and how to access them.
He did the same for each of his nieces and nephews that weren’t already informed.
“We’ll see,” Hermione said, stubbornly. She moved to sit back down on her stool, pushing her book out of the way. “For one thing, you’re not exactly eloquent with words, Ron.”
“Merlin, I want to be a fly on the wall during that conversation,” he muttered under his breath. “And Percy’s a prat, it’s not a good combination.
“You’re a stubborn prat too, darling,” she said, smiling at him widely, “but you also give in sometimes. Besides, I always got on with Percy alright enough. You also forget how stubborn I can be sometimes.”
“Hey,” he shrugged, “It’s why you married me,” a goofy grin found it’s way to it’s face. “Just make sure you don’t destroy his office in your battle of wills, kay Mione?”
“Let me speak to the boy first and go to Percy with what he’s told me,” she said, shaking her head. “Just because that might be how Percy feels now, it doesn’t mean that he won’t change his mind. Just me try, alright?”
“If anyone can get someone to talk, it’s you,” he said as he started eating his chicken. “But Mione, I think Percy’s mind is set, no matter what we learn from Ferdinand.”

“I agree,” Hermione stated, watching the turntable as it slowly rotated. “I think they’re all just scared because what happened last time. I mean, Voldemort was just a boy, and no one stopped him. He always had a darkness about him. I’m not saying that this boy is the next Voldemort; I don’t believe that, I just think that perhaps that’s where all of this is coming from. They’re being overly cautious and unfortunately for Ferdinand, he’s stuck in Azkaban when he shouldn’t be punished nearly as severely as he is being.”
“Even with Voldemort, people could tell there was something off about him,” Ron mumbled. “You can tell with Ferdinand that he just got caught up in trying to protect his family. He may not be the greatest guy in the world, but Azkaban is taking things too far.”
“At least he has a human guard and not a dementor,” Hermione pointed out. “He can have visitors and he can write and receive letters. That’s something at least. I just hope that he doesn’t have to stay there long. I’d hate for him to be robbed of what little bit of his childhood he has left.”
“Still Hermione,” he sighed, taking his chicken out of the microwave as the timer went off. “If Percy has anything to say about it, he’ll stay in there the rest of his life.”
Hermione wrapped an arm around Ron from the back and sighed, going up on her tiptoes to put her chin on his shoulder. “I discussed it with him too. I’m going to see the boy tomorrow in Azkaban. So many of them seem to think that he knows more than what he does. I feel like if he had known anything more, he would have told you when he turned himself in. They think that time in Azkaban will make him admit to more things.”
Ron sighed, it was amazing that after so many years, he still managed to feel like the stupid kid brother who couldn’t do anything right. He put his arm around Hermione, kissing the top of her head before speaking, “If he knew more than he told me, he’s not going to spill just because of Azkaban.”

“There’s a chicken breast you can heat up in there. It’s in the plastic container,” she gestured in the general direction that she’d stuck it in before she shrugged her shoulders, “It was fine. Busy. I had a long meeting with Percy today, I think in between the meetings that you had with him, though I’m not entirely sure.”
“Thanks,” he mumbled, grabbing the plastic container and walking over to their microwave. He was far too tired to use magic and while he complained about not needing the muggle appliance, he was glad Hermione had won that argument, even if he would never admit it. “Percy is a right git,” he told her as he punched the numbers on the microwave, rather forcefully.
“I see that it went well,” she sighed, sliding off the stool and walking up behind him. She laid her hand gently on his shoulder. “He’s not budging on Ferdinand, is he?” she asked.
“It went brilliantly,” he said sarcastically before he sighed. “No he’s not. The kid made mistakes but he doesn’t deserve to spend the rest of his life in Azkaban, that’s not why I joined the Ministry…”
